Meet Our 2022 Time to Thrive Experts

Tara McGillicuddy, SCAC

Tara McGillicuddy is described by those who know her – clients, fellow leaders, and community – as dedicated to the deep, soulful energetic-level shifts required by life. Whether she’s helping to SEE your life more clearly, identify where you’re stuck, tuning into sacred energies OR she’s helping to build a practical life with tools, structure, physical help and precise action steps, she is committed to giving everything she knows to help you live your best life and to feel fulfilled by it.

Tara has been known and celebrated in the ADHD community for decades of practical and long-lasting shifts in tens of thousands in her communities. The creator of ADDClasses.com, The ADHD Awareness Expo and ADHD Support Talk Radio Tara is one of the longest-standing leaders in the field. Over the years she has also honed her natural skills as an empath. She now also combines the rare gift of sight and energetic knowing and her latest project is Empath Now a resource to help Empower Empaths.

Topic: Combat Negativity and Thrive with ADHD

In this session, Tara McGillicuddy discusses the importance of becoming aware and identifying and understanding the impact of negativity in the lives of people affected by ADHD. She also helps to develop an action plan to combat negativity. It’s time to begin to identity and combat negativity!

Bonnie Mincu

an ADHD Coach since 2001, when she left corporate management consulting to do executive coaching, training and organization development on her own.

Bonnie found she was getting nothing done, and discovered, to her surprise, that she was ADD. She then got training in coaching ADHD adults, and began Thrive with ADD.

Over the last 20 years, Bonnie’s used her background in training and process redesign to develop many resources for ADHD. She’s an annual presenter at virtual ADHD conferences, and taught her workshop at New York University. Her training program, Productivity Pathfinder, helps ADHD adults achieve self-mastery

Topic: Shame, Fear & Avoidance: The Stories We Tell Ourselves

For those with ADHD who suffer from toxic shame or rejection sensitivity, painful, self-blaming thoughts are a constant companion. Shame and fear lead to negative assumptions that we convince ourselves are true. When these stories we tell ourselves create avoidance behavior, they’re likely causing you more harm than ADHD itself.

Learn how to recognize when toxic shame has hijacked your brain so you can fight back with strategies to help you regain rationality.

Dr. Edward (Ned) Hallowell, M.D.

A board-certified child and adult psychiatrist and world authority on ADHD.

He is a graduate of Harvard College and Tulane Medical School, and was a Harvard Medical School faculty member for 21 years. He is the Founder of The Hallowell ADHD Centers in Boston MetroWest, New York City, San Francisco, Palo Alto and Seattle.

He has spent the past four decades helping thousands of adults and children live happy and productive lives through his strength-based approach to neurodiversity, and has ADHD and dyslexia himself.

Dr. Hallowell is a New York Times bestselling author and has written 20 books on multiple psychological topics. The groundbreaking Distraction series, which began with Driven to Distraction, co-authored with Dr John Ratey in 1994, sparked a revolution in understanding of ADHD.

Dr. Hallowell is the host of his new podcast called Dr. Hallowells Wonderful World of different where he celebrates the world of different in its many and varied forms. In celebrating the many differences that adorn humanity, he hopes to break down barriers of stigma and misunderstanding and show how all of us benefit from the differences between us.

Dr. Hallowell has been featured on 20/20, 60 Minutes, Oprah, PBS, CNN, The Today Show, Dateline, Good Morning America, The New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek, Time Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe and many more. He is a regular columnist for ADDitude Magazine.  Dr. Hallowell lives in the Boston area with his wife Sue and they have three children, Lucy, Jack and Tucker.

Topic: Making your life VAST and full of potential

What if instead of thinking of ADHD as a deficit and a disorder, we saw it for what it really is, a way of being in the world which with the right support can be a wonderful way of being?

Drs Hallowell and Ratey introduced a new term for ADHD in their latest book ADHD 2.0. Its VAST, or Variable Attention Stimulus Trait. The old term with its emphasis on pathology, on a deficit disorder, is inaccurate and stigmatizing. The new term is far more accurate, allowing for positive attributes, not just negative ones. Dr. Hallowell explains the rich and complex world of VAST and how a simple change in framing can set off an entire shift in thinking and treatment.

Aaron Croft

Aron Croft appeared to have it all when he got into Harvard. But that was the beginning of his demise. He struggled nonstop for 15 years until he was broke, divorced, and earning minimum wage, failing out of his first 7 jobs and businesses.

But after getting a Master’s degree in Coaching Psychology and a diagnosis of Inattentive ADHD, his life changed. He built a successful Fortune 500 career consulting to companies such as Marriott, Deloitte, Johnson & Johnson, McDonald’s, KPMG, and United Healthcare. He also got remarried, and most importantly, discovered how to get sh*t done with a neurodivergent brain. Now he’s on a mission to raise awareness about Inattentive ADHD, how it goes under the radar, and how to rebuild your life post-diagnosis.

He’s a musician, he loves seeing live music, his all-time favorite band is Phish, and is obsessed and in love with playing the fastest growing sport in the U.S., pickleball.

Topic: How to make accountability (really) work.

Many adults with ADHD say they have a love/hate relationship with accountability. For some, it’s the only way to ever get anything done. For others, it stirs up feelings of anxiety, shame, and disappointment. The session will explore communication strategies, relationship dynamics, technology solutions, meeting agendas, and other best practices for effective accountability in a variety of different settings.

She chairs the webinar committee for ADDA. She lives in Durham, NC with her slightly OCD husband, one OCD cat, four adorable ADHD Shelties, and 15 cackling hens.

Topic: ADHD Perfectionism: How to Curb the Paralysis and Get Stuff DONE

Linda says, “DONE is my favorite four-letter word, but for ADHD folks like us, it can be hard to achieve.” Why? Perfectionism sets in at the last minute (and sometimes before we even start!). We work harder and harder to nail down every detail, cross every ’T’ and dot every “I” but predictably, overwhelm sets in followed immediately by paralysis and shut down.

On the surface, perfectionism is a logical strategy for ADHD brains: we have “screwed up” so many times that we are hyper vigilant about potential errors. But aiming for perfection is a set up for failure. In this session we’ll discuss ways to recognize the creeping influence of perfectionism and how to escape its tight grip on ADHD productivity.

Rick Webster

Diagnosed with ADHD himself almost twenty years ago, Rick Webster, our CEO, and leader at Rena-Fi, Inc.,is a long-time ADDA and CHADD associate and ADHD coach.  As a committed member to his local ADHD communities, Rick’s personal mission to help ADHDers thrive helped him to step naturally into a board position with CHADD.  Rick states, “Like many or even most people with ADHD, I’ve struggled to find my tribe, to find my place of belonging, and to find purpose. It’s not so much that I’m on the board; it’s that I’m home.”

While Rick is ADHD himself, he is also the father of four adult daughters (two diagnosed with ADHD) who are thriving as they build families and successful careers of their own design. He has coached countless individuals with ADHD, and been able to answer thousands of unique questions over the years helping to solidify his understanding of what it means to be ADHD.

As the founder and CEO of Rena-Fi, Inc., his mission is to bring affordable quality financial education to anyone who seeks it. Rick sees a synergistic opportunity to bring financial education to those who need it most, the ADHD community, and he looks forward to serving this community on multiple levels.

Topic: Managing Money & Financial Success with ADHD

People with ADHD earn, on average, 25% less than their similarly educated and talented peers, and often pay “The ADHD Tax”  in late fees, penalties and lost opportunities. We’re taught that creating a budget, cutting up credit cards, consolidating loans, and saving more and spending less are the answers, and that success is based on self-discipline. Learn the real causes of financial stress with ADHD, and actionable solutions to bring you Financial Success with ADHD.
